Automotive Technology

Work and learn in an amazing and complete Automotive lab as you prepare to meet the ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Education Foundation standards (formerly NATEF). Through the Maintenance and Light Repair (MLR) tasks, students acquire the entry-level technical knowledge and skill development needed to enter the automotive industry and other related fields as well as continue their education with many post-secondary options. Students split their time between automotive theory and instruction and real-life lab work. They are encouraged to use their training and problem-solving skills to diagnose and repair vehicles. Students who excel in the program may have the opportunity to complete more advanced Automotive (AST) Service Technician tasks, compete in the SkillsUSA competitions to test their skills against students in other automotive training programs, and participate in the Automotive Youth Education System (AYES) work experience program at a sponsoring automotive business.
