Meet Dawn Mitchell, RN Professional Registered Nurse. She is a dedicated healthcare professional driven by her passion for making a positive impact in people's lives. With extensive experience in nursing, she has held various roles, starting as a compassionate staff nurse. Progressing to unit manager, she utilized her organizational and leadership skills to ensure patient safety and satisfaction. Transitioning to education, Dawn found fulfillment as a staff educator, blending her love for patient care with teaching. Now, as a certified nursing instructor at UTC, she is grateful for the opportunity to inspire the next generation of healthcare providers.

Professional Certification Opportunities

  • CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant- State of Maine Certification-must complete all requirements to be able to take state exam -include all clinical hours. Students must meet all contracted facility immunization requirements to be eligible to attend clinical. 

  • CRMA – Certified Residential Medication Aide -State of Maine Certification- must complete medication passes for 3 residents Students must meet all contracted facility immunization requirements to be eligible to attend clinical.

  • PSS – Personal Support Specialist- State of Maine Certification

  • CPR/AED – American Heart Association
